BOOKING FLOW AND FAQ

Dear Jack is for people who want to be in the photos too. Not as an afterthought, as the whole point. The love between you and your animal is the subject. The specific, unrepeatable way your dog looks at you and only you. The way your cat chooses your lap out of every lap in the world. That's what we're here to make.

If you're after beautiful portraits of your pet as the solo star, I can point you toward some wonderful photographers who do that brilliantly. That's just not the story I tell.

One more thing: Dear Jack lives in the in-between spaces; the beach zoomies, the bed takeover, the kitchen underfoot. If your dogs are allowed on the furniture and have 15 different pet names, you're probably going to feel very at home here.

They don't need to. Truly.

Most people come to me convinced their dog is too chaotic, too easily distracted, too much. But you don't need a well-trained pet, you need an honest one. That's what we're here to capture. A performance version of your pet was never the point.

Yes. And often these are the most important sessions to do.

The slow mornings with an older dog who can't walk as far as she used to. The cat who only comes out for one person in the whole world. The rescue who still startles at sudden sounds. Dear Jack is here to meet you where you are, not where you think you should be.

Yes, a 25% deposit is required at the time of booking to secure your session date. The remaining balance is due the day before your session.

Your deposit is fully refundable if you need to reschedule or cancel with more than 48 hours notice. If life happens inside that window, the deposit is non-refundable, but I'm always happy to work with you on finding a new date.

If I need to reschedule for weather or any other reason on my end, your deposit is returned in full. No questions, no fuss.

Overcast days are actually some of my favourites to shoot. Soft, diffused light with no harsh shadows. A little grey never hurt anyone and honestly some of the moodiest, most beautiful images come from days that weren't exactly what we planned.

That said, if the weather is genuinely unworkable, we'll make the call together. No pressure in either direction. If you want to push through or push it back, we figure it out as a team. If we do reschedule, your deposit carries straight over to the new date. Nothing changes on the payment side.

And if it's raining and you couldn't care less about the state of your car seats afterward just say the word. I'll grab my camera cover and we'll create some magic.
